July 9, 2011. Last week when I came to the Appomattox, the water was about a foot below the dam level and all this was slow and stagnant. Today, the water is roiling; pounding over the dam and for the first time I've seen kayaking out on the river. Grabbed my broken lens---I didn't get a nicely focused image, so I've made it a bit dreamy...July 9, 2011. Today, the water is roiling; pounding over the dam and for the first time I’ve seen kayaking out on the river. Grabbed my broken lens—I didn’t get a nicely focused image, so I’ve made it a bit dreamy…
