Happy Solstice everyone!

I stayed up very late to get these images, had to give in by 3:00…my fingers were frozen, the wind was picking up and I was getting into a shutter time of over 30 seconds….

Early on, there was a lot of cloud cover, and a not so dark sky,but by the time the show was really getting pretty, the sky cleared.  It was odd, as I was in and out, warming up between shots. I looked out the door,  and the sky was suddenly ablaze with stars, and black as coal otherwise.

Whoops! Bonus post!!!! (also from Williamsburg!)

My next Christmas tree will not have pre-lit branches.  What’s so difficult about untangling a few hundred Christmas tree lights, ( especially with the help of a couple of cats?) It is much simpler to locate and change a burned out bulb on the floor! Really, is it so much easier to set up the tree, when if one light goes out, an entire string doesn’t work, and you have to drive to Lowes to buy new lights in the middle of decorating anyhow?

(And one that fits back inside the box it came in when you bought it, but that may be an entirely different complaint…)
